I am a 67 year old highly active woman who had a sling procedure years ago by a urologist. I had endured a leakage that was of sufficient strength to warrant my wearing a pad every day, often changing it once or twice during the day. The procedure worked for about 6 months and then my body reverted to the old pattern. On came the pad.

At the insistence of a new gynecologist, I made an appt. with Dr. Marc Toglia, Lankenau Hospital, a urogynecologist. The material he used for the sling was completely different, and rather than spending 3 days in the hospital, I was an out patient. I had no discomfort whatsoever, but did follow instructions and stayed close to the house for 4-5 days. There was no pain associated with the procedure, and I was back to work the following week, driving and leading a normal life, without a pad.

It is now 10 weeks post surgery and I am working out in the gym, not wearing a pad and feeling really great about this procedure. There is no need to endure a drip with this new technique, I would encourage you to have a consultation and schedule this as soon as possible.

For the past fifteen years I suffered from fecal incontinence. Diet, medications and several surgeries had proven ineffective. After moving from Wisconsin to Pennsylvania, my new primary care physician promptly referred me to Dr. Toglia. Based on my years of frustration in seeking a solution, I was naturally skeptical, but Dr. Toglia was immediately encouraging. He was very attentive about the details of my condition, and convinced me that he was determined and decisive about solving this problem for me. My uterine prolapse and urinary incontinence issues began when I was in my mid-30s. My symptoms worsened steadily, until last fall when, at age 71, I finally in desperation went to see Dr. Toglia, who, after a thorough evaluation, determined that both of my problems could be addressed through a minimally invasive vaginal procedure, that included vaginal hysterectomy. My surgery went very smoothly, it was painless and very successful. I left the hospital the very next day, and my recovery has been swift and complete. Dr. Marc Toglia has changed my life; because of his skill and caring, I feel like a normal person again. His skill, meticulous care and concern for his patient’s welfare are outstanding. At 37 years old, I was becoming increasingly uncomfortable with a vaginal prolapse. I had had three vaginal births resulting in damage to my pelvic floor. A couple of years prior, Dr. Toglia inserted a TVT sling which successfully fixed my urinary incontinence problem. Now I was ready to address the anterior wall prolapse. Dr Toglia performed a gynecare TVT sling on me in 2006 for urinary incontinence and it has changed my life. I am an intensive care nurse, which means that I am very busy at my job.
